Trends & Needs

  • Banks: Banks have been aggressively recruiting brokers for the past two years. This is not limited to the largest banks who recruit both in volume and for exclusive high net worth offices but includes regional and local banks as well - even the occasional Savings & Loan!

In the past, banks have lured brokers with the promise of access to the bank’s client list. They still want brokers to exploit this source of assets but they expect brokers to bring their own books to the party. This name of the game is assets.
  • Independents: If you are of an entrepreneurial bent and are willing to run your own business and have an excellent relationship with your clients this may be for you. The levels of support vary greatly as do the targeted brokers. Some independents have unique concepts that might be right your alley. Give us a call - we have several clients eager to talk with you.
  • Fee-based business: This is the direction all of the major firms, many of the regionals and even some of the boutiques, have taken over the past few years (some much longer) and there is no end in sight for the move in this direction. If your business is not there or headed in that direction, moving isn’t impossible but your choices are limited.
  • Teams: We are finding more and more firms encouraging the formation of teams so each broker had the ability to concentrate on what he does best while profiting from all aspects of the business. We have several clients who ask us for brokers with an interest in being part of a team. Also we get calls for junior partners to match up with someone who will retire in a few years. We even have on regional (midwest) independent B/D that expands this concept across the entire firm.
  • Producing Managers: We have experienced an upsurge in regionals and banks looking for producing managers. If you have a good book of business and a management you’d like to put to use, give us a call. Remember - you will never have to give up your book and still enjoy all the financial and other advantages of management.
  • Southeast: We have two exclusive smaller firms looking to expand current offices and open new ones in the Southeast - Washington to Florida. We need teams and individual advisors in small as well as large markets. Call for information and an interview. We will also need managers for the new offices.
